Italy Youth Safeguarding: 300 Volunteers Deliver 500,000 “Truth About Drugs” Booklets
MILAN, Italy — 12 February 2026 — Some 300 volunteers have been mobilised since January across Italy in a prevention-through-information campaign, distributing information resources titled “The Truth About Drugs”. The organisers state that over 500,000 copies have already been handed out, with Milan at the forefront and wider participation growing.
The European Office of the Church of Scientology is among those supporting the campaign within its broader support for drug education and prevention initiatives inspired by the work of L. Ron Hubbard. The campaign focuses on facts about substances and the physical and mental-health consequences associated with use.
Organisers also highlight athlete involvement. They say 100+ athletes associated with Milano Cortina 2026 have added their names to the Foundation for a Drug-Free World Honorary Register, supporting drug-prevention awareness for youth. Organisers argue, sport offers a credible setting for prevention messaging because it is associated with health, focus and long-term wellbeing.
Ivan Arjona, the Church of Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, the Council news eu italy budget of Europe and the UN, said: “Protecting young people is a public-health priority and a civic responsibility across Europe. Verified, accessible information strengthens informed decision-making, and it helps communities reduce the social space in which criminal networks operate.”
